They've gotta do something to strum up business.. My mam owns a florist n its prob gonna close up soon enough. She's knows of 8 florists in south dublin that have closed over the last 8 months... The likes of Aldi, Tescos n M&S are starting to do flowers of decent quality and more n more are buying from them... Afaik Mad Flowers supply tescos, same flowers as they sell in their shops only half the price...

I got the flowers and delivery to her office in IFSC for that price, think they do all of dublin free. the flowers were much bigger and more impressive than the tesco ones I gave her before.

My girlfriend was delighted = good for me :D I think she was happy cos I made her workmates jealous, hahaha I will never understand women.

Florists are going to be reduced to Weddings and Funerals and little else. Delivery is about the only benefit over the supermarkets - if Tesco or Superquinn can cotton onto this for Valentines if no other time, they could afford to charge for delivery and still be cheaper. Sell online, delivery from their distribution centres.

Anyway, I am tempted to make a purchase just for the hell of it...
