K peeps. Upon starting the game there's an option given to you to skip one particular mission as it "might be offensive". Has anyone seen it yet? Is it that bad? No major spoilers please.:cool:

Yeah I'm thinking it'll be a nice change and it's a brave move by IW to put it in the game I think. I bet all the people who say they can't bring themselves to play the level have spent many a hour wasting unarmed civilians in GTA!

damm i loved it......mainly because watching the russian airport trailer with all the dead civilians didnt think we would get to play them

i was hoping they would allow us be the terrorists, but thought they would get in crap for it so you would be a cop..or it was just a vid

I can see how some sensitive people might be offended, but it's no worse than going on a rampage in a GTA game.

Fantastic level.

Contextualises the enemy, plus has the balls to put the gamer in a situation they likely won't be comfortable with, but the suggestion that is it is for the "greater good". Very effective piece of gaming IMO, and one which Infinity Ward have to be applauded for putting in

i don't see what all the fuss is as you can do the same thing in a lot of video games e.g. GTA, Saints Row. Fair enough the level is linear in that aspect but as was previously said you can skip it. I don't know why there is so much hassle about it.

I think its easy to see what they were going for (contextualising the enemy etc) but his was done far more effectively in COD4 when

you're taken to be executed at the beginning .

The problem I felt with the level was that what follows it is one of the most ludicrous, laughable attempts at a videogame storyline, basically Bond meets G.I Joe.

It's complete Michael Bay nonsense from that level onward, and I wonder if Infinity Ward knew that, and it's not meant to be taken seriously from that point onwards? Or maybe they somehow thought they were writing some really deep s**t :pac: The level itself is really out of sync with the overall tone of the game IMO. Didn't really enjoy playing that part myself, I still applaud them for taking a different approach but I think they failed

ps.

I understand that the operative is there to gain intel etc but if 141 knew about this mission would it not make more sense to alert anyone of an upcoming terrorist attack? Or maybe if the operative literally just shot the three of them in the back of the head rather than partaking in it and killing innocent civilians?

I really thought it was creepy.. i'm not offended by it, but i didn't enjoy it, i don't know why.. i loved killing innocents in GTA etc. This just seemed a little TOO real.

I don't think you are mate, I found it a bit creepy too but that's IW doing a kick-ass job on the level design and its impact; it's the message and reaction they were looking to get from players I think.

I only shot guards. The rest of the time, I fired above the civilians, to make it look like I was killing them, but really not actually killing any of them.

I thought about that a bit too much I think

I felt a little bad when I killed the guy trying to give cpr or something to another guy.

Funniest was when I accidentally threw a grenade into a group of them. Oopsie.
