    Hi all,

just wondering if anyone else if getting the 800 error when playing or trying to play KZ2?

Console is one of the originals and is working fine for other games incl Drakes first game.
But popped in the KZ2 disc last night and got the BluRay disc error.

Planning to reformat it later - but as it is only affecting 1 game so far unsure if this is needed or if it is something more to do with the game itself...

fyi: firmware is the latest rev.

Was playing KZ2 on Sunday with no issues, launch console with new firmware, etc.

Try deleting your game data locally first (back it up before you do, obviously)... might be that

Will try that - just not getting that far with KZ2 right now.

    Thanks.

    Well rang Sony last night.
Very helpful - was instructed to do a full restore - you know formatting the HD.

    So -
    Backup 1hr 20
    Full restore ~ 3 hrs
    Restore 1hr 20

Tried KZ2 again - and shock horror - same error. As well as the trophy sync error.

Taking this as a sign of things to come - so far no other games affected but maybe time to put some cash aside for a slim. :(

Chances are you weren't talking to Sony, but rather a call center that handles a bunch of different companies.

But anyway, I looked up error 800 for you and it seems to be a DNS thing. Check if you're set up for NAT type 2 or 3 on your router...

    Cheers for that.

NAT is not the problem here I think.
Did some searches on it - it is the 80010514 error - BD related one I believe.
Weird thing is that when it normally occurs it seems to hit all games - but for me it is just KZ2.

I might just try turning off the internet connection later just to see if it is related somehow to nat2 / 3. But for me I never even see the opening screen. PS3 goes black and after 10 sec the error appears.

you sure its not just the disc that's the problem? its unlikely that one disc is the problem if the lens is at fault. try getting a loan or renting another killzone?

Will give that a shot too. When I started to see the trophy error as well just jumped to obvious (but maybe wrong) conclusion...

If you have a mate with a PS3, pop your disk there to see if it's just an inconveniently placed scratch weaking havoc on your machine.
