Wireless signal dropped from excellent to good, and according to the wireless adapter graphic is 2/4

    Have wireless router (Router Name
    Motorola Netopia
    Model
    2247-62)
    with Eircom,

and Wireless adapter Intel Pro Set 2200b

Both antennas on router in the vertical position
    Encryption is WPA - PSK

Laptop (XP) is 6m from Netopia, has to go thru one partition wall, so not far

I enabled Mac filtering on the Netopia, and password protect the router could this be a factor ?

Have reset the router and laptop

    Anything else I could check

If its not affecting your speed dont worry about it.

It could be that you have something else in the house (or your neighbour) operating at the same frequency.

Try a setting your router to broadcast on a different channel
