I want to go to Dubai in Jan/Feb. Looking for the cheapest way to get there.

I'm going to Dubai, but Abu Dhabi is only an hour away so if I can get there cheaper that will do fine.

Anyone know what airlines fly that route?

OK so I've done a bit of research and Ethiad do Dublin to Abu Dhabi Direct, but its a bit expensive at about €650

KLM are a bit cheaper at around €400 +/-. They do Dublin to Dubai via either Amsterdam or Paris. Perfect! Here is my question: Is it possible to extend the connecting flight by a day, so I can e.g. spend one day in Paris on the way over, and one day in Amsterdam on the way back. Can this be done?

    Thanks

The only one I can think of is Eithad, and using cheaptickets.com may get you a fairly cheap fare(around 400E return)

I'm looking at going to Bahrain in February and from what I've seen so far Turkish Airlines are the cheapest, both through ebookers and on the airline's website, where they apparently apply a discount to the quoted price at the checkout. They fly to both Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Most likely you'll have to ring them. However stopovers may not be allowed on a fare that cheap.

If you really want to spend a night in each city - why not book one ticket From Dublin - Amsterdam, returning from Paris to Dublin (with Aer Lingus for example), and a second ticket Amsterdam - Abu Dhabi/Dubai - Paris (with Air France/KLM)? The Aer Lingus, KLM and Air France websites allow you to book those multi-city trips online.

It a often be cheaper to book 2 seperate tickets! For example I found a CDG-BAH-DXB flight with GF for €300, if you an get the DUB-CDG flight for less than €100 youve already saved money!

why not check out qatar airways or even BA, myself and my boyfriend flew to doha via bahrain earlier this year and got our flights with BA for about 400e, was a lovely flight too.
did have to go through london though...
try any of the Asian or aussie airlines..

Yes, as long as your stop is under 24 hours there will normally be no extra charge. Phone KLM to book it (it's usually difficult to book deliberately long stops online).

Thanks. Weird, I called KLM today and spent 15 mins on the phone with them. At first they said some flights depending on terms, you can do it without cost. Then they spent ages searching but still came back 200 more expensive than the normal flight on the web.

I'm thinking a travel agent might be able to do this better for me, anyone know one that might do it?

Edit: sorry just read other replies, thanks yes I'll try the two seperate flights idea :)

I think it ends today - but watch www.klm.com for great deals...

I remember lookin at airlingus.com 3/4 months back and they had one way flights to Dubai for €9.99

also you should try travelsupermarket.com they will compare a couple of different airlines for you.

    Hope this helps.
