I have been researching multifuel stoves for my new build and I would be grateful for any views relating to the following. Particularily interested in user reviews.

My research has thrown up some interesting finding into some stoves being almost identical to waterford stanley without the brand stamp. eg hamco and warrior.

    Hamco glenbarrow or glendine
    Stanley oisin/oscar
    Warrior gabriel
    Stovax dovre 250mf

I should also say that i'm looking for non boiler models approx 5-7 kw

    Regards

Waterford Stanley are cast in China from all accounts, Standard practice for the Chinese is to make some for Stanley and some for whoever else wants them.
In other words they are all Chinese with different names attached.
If you want a quality stove you will need to go with something like Morso,Stovax,Jydepeisen etc, they cost more but are IMO a superior product.
I have a Morso Squirrel myself and they are a nice quality stove.

The only thing I will say is that when we were looking for our stove loads of the models on display couldn't take the abuse they were getting however the Waterford ones seemed up to the challenge. Along with the fact that access to replacement stove parts our decision was made fairly easily.

One of the few stoves still being made in the UK is the Stratford.. A lot of people recommended them to me.. They have different sizes, with or without boilers and a bit of value can be got on them north of the border.

If you want "best of british" then have a look also at

    - Hunter (Herald 14 for eg)
    - Dunsley Heat

I believe Boru stoves are 100% Irish by the way.

I'm thinking of installing the Charnwood Island Cove 2b in my sitting room to heat 9 rads. Is this the right choice or is there a better one on the market ? How does it compare to the Hunter or Mulberry range ? Also, any idea who gives the best value in Charnwoods in Munster/midlands?

Esse greenswitch 350. Option of external air supply for airtight houses. Very few options out there in the multifuel/boiler/airtight market as far I can see

I am in a quandary over what integrated stove to buy and how it should be installed. I am receiving conflicting reports over the lining of the flue and the installation. I am looking at the Waterford Stanley Oisin. One fireplace fitter told me I do not need to line the chimney! I am really not sure what to think at this stage!

<snip> have no respect for their customers. They are in breach of a court order (Waterford court 21st March 2013)

A customer was granted 20,300e for damage done by a <snip> cooker but 6 months later no payment made.

I bought a blacksmith Anvil last year and could say nothing negative about it. It's a 6KW and throws off fantastic heat. Best think I ever did was get a stove :)

Bought it from this place in Tramore.

We have a waterford stanley oisin in the front room and it is fantastic loads of heat and very efficient. We just built an extension to the rear, large space and saucy enough to heat so we are putting a cream enamel stanley oisin in it and dont expect any problems. I would have no hesitation in recommending them.

We had a broseley york midi stove prior to the stanley and all I can say is stay well away, very very poor stove. After 18 months the top of the stove cracked in two one night when there was a small fire lighting in it. Sounded like a gunshot when it happened, poor old dog still isnt right!
