Bluetooth for Mercedes

Hi, I'm looking to see if anyone has come across this device or had any good or bad experiences with it.
I have a Merc with the in-built phone system, with the cradle in the centre arm-rest and the controls on the steering wheel. But I have an iPhone and would like to hook it up to the system. Merc offer no solution. I've seen this Bluetooth device on the web called a Viseeo MBU1000, which is designed to fit the Nokia cradle in the car, the car then thinks it has a phone fitted, and you can connect ANY bluetoth phone to it to use all the car controls.
Has anyone heard of this or how good it is? Or, even better, does anyone have one that they can say how it works.
    cheers

Hi Dave, I would junk the kit in favour of a Parrot CK3000. The Parrot kit is the best bluetooth kit as it is designed to work with all manufacturers handsets. You can buy an adapter kit that will interface with your steering wheel buttons. You can also get a power lead adapter that mean there is no splicing of wires, etc.

    Here is some further info:

    CK3000 Car Kit

Adapter to hook up power & speakers

    Steering Wheel interface kit

I know it is not exactly the response you were looking for but it might be an alternative plan.

thanks for this steer rebel ranter. It sounds perfect but a lot of retro fitting, I suppose I was hoping for the simple solution.
I'll see if anyone else has had experience with the Viseeo and take it from there. Thanks for taking the time to answer the post

What year / model is the car?

I've seen Bluetooth adaptors in a couple of E-Class models (2005 & 2006) that slotted in to the cradle in the armrest. Both were fitted by Merc dealers and allowed any Bluetooth phone to be controlled via the steering wheel controls.

its a 03 CL, and it takes a Nokia 6310. Cheers for that, I'll check with Merc again and see what they have

    +1 Seen that,

Although it won't have Bluetooth EDR so no Music from the iPhone, just calls.

thanks - do you mean that you have seen one or do you have one? if you have one, does it work? I'm not too bothered about the music, but would like the phone and phonebook to be accessible via the controls and screen
