    wont mention what store,
but i was told by a retailer last week that he cant get china made airsoft items anymore, said something about factories being closed down, and now he will have to import items from scandinavia among other places, which he says will ultimately put up his prices....
is this true,or is he just being oppertunistic with the impending ban?

Actually the situation in China is very serious....all the airsoft factories have been shut down under fire arm laws and all the ceo's have been jailed with some facing execution if found guilty.China has very strict firearm laws which airsoft breaks...it may be that china will never again produce airsoft equipment.(although this is unlikely due to the multi million dollar industy that it is), it may come back in time but don't hold ur breath.
This guy is not winding you up or shaft you, and the situation is going to have a serious impact into the sport of airsoft.

Thats the worst of the rumors that have been doing the rounds, it isn't as bad as has been made out by some. The factories are going to be back in a matter of months.

Regarding the OP, scandinavia? Pull the other one, don't shop there again.

Ok the basics are correct, the only director arrest was from agm, a lot of stock was destroyed along with moulds, this has effect the supply of china soft products, it looks like the airsoft industry has started up again but the imapact will be felt for some time

a lot of shops are know haveing to source stock from other locations this are normal high end products which have a higher retail cost due to higher production cost

There is a good thread over on armies on this

Must be ASG he's talking about, so there is a bit of truth in it.

ASG don't do many clones, and they probably wont have any over the next few months - they'll be just as badly hit as everyone else. High end stuff and budget lines from the main Taiwan and Japanese manufacturers is all that can be gotten easily right now.

Also, I heard from a couple of suppliers over the last couple of days that Cyma and Jing Gong are about the only ones open, and that they have limited production.

March 2010 was the rough date I was given for the re-opening of the of the other major players, but like everything in this saga, I've no idea how accurate that is. Information changes from day to day and week to week.
