COD 4/5 ONLINE PROBLEM

    my problem is when i play online on any!!!!!!!!!! of my call of duty games that when its loading for a multiplayer or co-op match i cant seem to find a game it just says getting match quallity its just online im able to play splitscreen and solo on nazi zombies but i dont seem to have any other problem with fifa , gta iv ,etc... online. just cod 4 and cod 5 for the last 4 or 5 days this has happpend please does anyone know what to do about this any ideas???

    Go into network settings on the PS3 and then into settings and connection status list. scroll down and check your Nat type, you don't want it to be Nat 3.

    If it is Nat 3 then it may be your router firewall and you will have to open ports or lower your firewall settings depending on what equipmet and isp you have.

    Type 1: Connected directly to the Internet

    Type 2: Connected to the Internet via a router

    Type 3: Connected to the Internet via a router

    With type 3, it may not be possible to communicate with other PS3™ systems, and voice / video chat and the communication features of games may be restricted.

    The port numbers for PlayStation®Network servers used for this are TCP: 80, 443, 5223 and UDP: 3478, 3479.

    For voice / video chat and online game play, direct communication with other PS3™ systems is used for data transmission during voice / video chat and online gaming. The port number used for this is UDP: 3658. However, you may need to use a different port number when you are connected using a NAT router.

    Hints
    •When you are using a router, direct communication with other PS3™ systems may be restricted depending on the type of router and its settings. When using a UPnP-compatible router, enable the UPnP feature.
    •Communication may be restricted by routers and security functions provided by Internet service providers. Refer to the instructions supplied with the network device and the information from your Internet service provider.

    Post up your ISP and Router or go to here and look for a guide to open ports on your router.

    So I have some knowledge of this one....The guy in question was posting from his dads account (and I know him well). There seems to be no problem connecting to servers in other multiplayer games, it seems restricted to COD 4 and 5.

    Are there settings in COD 4/5 that might affect your ability to see servers to connect to?
