Called a monoply. As you pointed out if you can be bothered to walk of campus you'll save at least 25%.

Sure not-really-Starbucks-but-we-sell-it-here is worse. Be a cheap fecker like me and get those Nescafe ones, buy a flask and bring it with ya. Voila! More money for more important things.

Email ucchospitality@kylemore.ie if you think the prices are too high for any food or drink product, they're trying their best to be affordable and compeditive this year so they'll want to know if they're too expensive an any area.

If thats the bean-to-cup stuff in the main I wouldn't touch it. Ridiculously expensive for the amount you get. The Americano in Java City is €2.50 for a medium which is good if you compare it to anywhere in town.

The main has always been, and will most likely continue to be, overpriced and poor quality fare in every aspect.

Tog Leat in the student centre has the best lattes on campus. Pretty decent price too. I get one every day. :D

The main may not offer the best food but the prices are usually the lowest. Anywhere else in Cork food is alot more expensive and the situation is close with beverages. Their lattes are the exception, tea is as cheap as anywhere there.

This is the problem and the SU thought they had it all figured ages ago when they got rid of Campbells. I was campaigning with someone running for the SU for an alternative strategy.

While the SU were busy shouting about Campbells being rubbish and wanting to replace them, and gladly welcoming in a new caterer that was going to do the exact same as their predecessors they paid no attention to the realities. If they had gone down the route of implementing benchmarking against other caterers and having an independent review group, made up of chefs, other caterers and managers within the industry, who could have compared the value and quality of the UCC caterers against others in the industry, we'd have been a lot better off.

The green kiwi is cheaper and of better quality and that's not saying much.

    Yeah this is exactly correct.

I, along with everyone else, was delighted when Campbells got the boot and appalled when they gave it to Kylemore who run an identical operation.

It was lip-service to change/improvement - in reality it was nothing but a change in name on the lease.
