    Alrite guys,

Just looking for some critical opinions on this mix. Recorded these last year in college, great band. Did this in one take.

Mixed it on Ableton 7 and throughout the year ive come back and made some tweaks when I was bored. Recently added a slight roomy effect on verse vocal, used to be just dry.

Also used the overkill reverb on snare and floor tom hits to give gunshot effect.
Had awful trouble with a lot of spill from hi hats into snare mic, so gated it and you can hear hats when snares hit jump a tad...

Level on overheads cud be brought up I think

Not too sure how i'm gonna go about mastering in terms to brighten and clean it up.

not in a position to comment on mix merits and stuff cos I've only just listened to it on computer speakers ...

out of interest though, how did you find trying to arrive at an acceptable mix using Ableton?

I found it quite difficult to work with Ableton when it came mixing towards a finished product. Dumping everything out into Reaper did allow me to start addressing things in a more systematic way.

The Plugins are pretty basic, no exciters or extra linear phase eq's and whatnot.
You're kinda limited on what you can do but its alright to mix a demo or somethin in it like.
