Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I'm not sure if this is in the right forum but here goes it.

I started running 3 weeks ago after 6 months of travelling the world.

    When I started travelling I was 15 stone 7lbs and now I am 13 stone 12lbs. (and 5 10 in height).

My fitness is farely good, I can run 2 miles in about 25min and not drop dead.
So up to today I was running about 2 miles 4/5 times a week.
Considering I dont work and find that I have tons of energy lying around the house I was wondering would it be unhealthy to run 2 miles in the morning and two in the evening 4/5 times a week?

I'm new to running so dont no my limits. Can anyone give me advice?
I wouldnt mind sheding another stone or two and run a 5k race in the new year!:)

3 weeks probably isn't a strong enough base to try that. I doubt if it would be unhealty if you were fit enough to do it but it might be more effective and sustainable if you went longer rather than more frequently. Increase one run (weekend?) to 3 miles and then 4 miles a fortnight later etc while still doing the other runs. You may be able to increase the distances of other runs after a few weeks also. If you can run 30-45mins 3-5 times a week then you're in a good position to tackle a 5k.

just returned from my second two miler of the day. 17minutes 30s.
That pretty impressive for my standards. :)

Pasta or other carbohydrates for fuel are the usual recommendation along with protein to help muscle.

You may want to ease up on the twice a day runs if you're exhausted as you could end up burning out soon and then not doing anything. Give yourself 1-2 months of running to allow your body to build up to that level. There's no rush ;).
