I have a pair of jeans and I want the inseam reduced by one inch, maintaining the exact same form except one inch shorter. Where can I get this done, preferably in city centre?

There's a good place on South Anne St, which I think a lot of the local shops use for their alterations. I can't remember the name of it, but it's upstairs from a restaurant or wine bar :)

It's The Alteration Centre in South Anne Street above Abrakebabra. I've used them for years for alteration and repairs for my customers.

Thank you both for the information. I will check them out.

Also, where would you go to make a 'slim fit' shirt slimmer? Is that possible?

Des Byrne just at the bottom of Grafton St, (above Burger King) is where I went for my dress alterations.

Yes, and it's a very simple job. Anyone reasonably competent on a sewing machine can do it. Any alteration place should be able to do it.

Apologies for bringing up an old thread...

I have a shirt for a wedding thats way too big for me, the neck size is right but the rest looks like a tent :o can those alteration places trim it down to make it a slim-size? Might it be too much for them to handle if the shirt is too big...?

My quest for actual slim-fit shirts continues

    Thanks for any replies!

Also jumping on board the old thread, reminded me of something I've been meaning to ask for ages:

I found a great 80s leather biker jacket in a vintage store for a snip (8 euro!!) but it's way too big for me in the body and arms. At the moment I have the back sorta safety pinned together to fit my torso more snugly, but the arms are still batwings.

Does anyone know if it would be possible for a tailor to make alterations to a leather jacket? It's really thick, strong leather :-/ Also if this is gonna cost me a fortune, it may not be worth it...
