Depressing Thoughts

    Hi,

The past few months I have been having upsetting, depressing daydreams. Mostly where I imagine something bad happening to me or to a loved one. I picture a scene of depression where everything is miserable.
I really wish I didn't have these negative upsetting thoughts. Am I looking for self pity in having these thoughts?

    Anyone of similar mindset?

    Tks.

Is there anything happening in your life recently that could be making you feel down? I could anything that is happening or has happened in your life that is making these thoughts come forward. This could all stem from another part of your life that you're having trouble with (whether you know it or not). Are you happy in your job? How is your home life? How is you love life? What is your relationship with your friends? Any one of these could be the cause of your daydreams.

Alternatively, it could actually be nothing but random dreams. We don't always have control of what thoughts jump into our heads and it could be the fact that you don't like these particular thoughts that's making you think about them.

It's difficult to give any real advice without more information, I think. There's the usual "eat healthy, get plenty of exercise, try and keep stress free as much as possible etc", that might help a little. If you find that you need to talk to someone is there any friends or family you'd feel ok talking to? If not you could always try counselling.
