Dodgy goings on in Phoenix Park

Has anyone else noticed some funny activity in the woods beside the small car park at the Mount Sackville entrance ?
Was out walking dog on sat afternoon and took a spin up through these woods and there were guys up there(at least 2 or 3) just kinda hanging around. One of them began to approach me and I got the hell out of there as it dawned on me that it was some sort of pick up point.
Laughed it off with the wife later as she seems to think there are a few parts of the park where this is notorious.
As people on here would be familiar with every inch of the park, have you seen this too and would this type of thing bother you ?

if that's the bottom left hand corner as you look at it on the map, I think you may have been in the Furry Glen. I was walking there with my wife a few years
ago and caught two fellas in a very embarassing position!

Ah the furry glen, lovely place!

yep the furry glen is renowned for this kind of thing ! Ran through there at 9.20 am yesterday morning and it was packed with men walking around aimlessly ! Whatever you're into yourself but I think its a bit much that people get up to all sorts in broad daylight. I should mention that I have stumbled across hetero couples at it as well.

OH! Someone took me running through there the other night. It was dark and no one was about - should I be worried about this individual?

[From a bush in the fury glen with my blackberry]

A cold one this morning. No sign of movement yet. Will report back later and post on racepics if I see anything.

:) Lunch time during the week is the optimum time for sightings !
I would like to make clarify that I am not a voyeur !

Neither am I for the record.

I actually have seen some suspect looking blokes around there when running. They kind of stand there as if waiting for a bus. I saw them around the time a body was found a few months back and I just thought these guys were gaurds. Creepy if you ask me.

I aint sure where mount sackville entrance but i have a terrible feeling its where i parked my car when training early on the sats mornings for the marathon.

Let me know if this is it.

When i ran around the park i use to take the turn off at top of the glen road where the bupa 10k goes, up the hill and the car park is on left hand side? half marathon did that route too.

In fairness when i run i dont notice anything around me but did get alot of hellos when at my car there

    Thought they were jsut friendly!

Gentle reminder, this topic is certainly relevant for runners who may appreciate the warning to avoid the odd suprise other than the odd Deer roaming around the park, but let's keep it clean! Prude, I know.
