Ok i just want to say straight out that i already have an appointment scheduled for the doctor in a weeks time so i'm going to get it checked out then anyway.

Was just recently i just started feeling itchy around my inner thigh near the top. It's in close proximity to my manhood. about 2 inch diamiter lots of little red spots. Now i'm not nor have i ever been in anyway sexually active (in any form). Spoke to my father about it and he gave me athlete's foot for it temporarily and said if it doesn't clear up in a week see the doctor... Now i'm just looking for a bit of information.

Is it possible to get an std/sti or something serious off let's say someone not washing their hands and shaking hands with them then itching yourself. If it is should it be absolute priority to see a doctor or will waiting a week make much difference?

I'd say more then likely it's a sweat rash as I've been feeling a bit sluggish the last 2 days and slept in my clothes and the shower's air locked so didn't have one either(completely unusual for me i'm normally very hygienic)

basically i just want someone to put my mind at ease and suggest if i need to prioritize that doctor appointment.

No, STIs are passed by genital to genital contact.

It's probably jock itch. The doctor will give you a cream to sort it out.

Did you buy any chance.... trim you hair down there? Using a razor? That can cause problems for both men and women when it comes to that region

I'd second that's it's very likely jock itch. Honestly a little talcum powder (baby powder) generally does the trick for me.

I was going to suggest similar myself.

Shaving could have caused this irritation.

Thanks guys so it probably is jock itch but i just wanted to make sure for example let's say someone had an sti. itched themselves. shook hands with me and then i scratched myself down there. That couldn't pass it on could it?

No. They're called sexually transmitted infections, not contact transmitted infections.

I remember the same thing happened me when i was in my late teens, i was terrified!
went to the doc and got some cream, as earlier posters said it was some kind of sweat rash,
Daktarin cream should clean it up for, you can get it in any chemist, dont need a script.

While chances are virtually nil, STDs still transmit through Skin Contact.

Had this when I was younger and a piss head and showering everyday was not high on my agenda.
The treatments mentioned above should work.
Shower every day without fail and dry yourself carefully.
Put your socks on before you put on your underwear, athletes foot can transfer from your feet to other areas.

Its probably jock itch which is very uncomfortable ,the best solution is to use a hydrocortisone cream very sparingly to calm down the inflammation very quickly ,talcum powder or dactarin and wash and dry carefully.

    Hey OP
First of all stop worrying. you've absolutely nothing to panic about.

U should go to the chemist and buy a powder called caldesene (It's for nappy rash) and it should clear it up. It's only like a fiver or something and no one will give u funny looks it's a fairly well known powder. it should clear it up within a day or two - if not go to the doc.

    All the best
