+1, 'cept I stopped for longer methinks. Not exactly the best with a mike but he played to his strengths and worked his tail off in every match. I've only really appreciated him as a wrestler after going all smark and looking at some of his old matches.

Shame about the book, it's just so bitter...

He was gold on the mic in 1997 as a heel. Far and away the most he ever entertained me.

Should have clarified this a bit. He didn't have elite skills like some other legends, and god some of the improvs/bloopers I've seen are cringeworthy. But he developed a persona where he didn't have to be the typical wrestler cutting a high-energy promo, just quiet, determined, and eventually pretty charismatic. By his own admission, his mike skills were never as good as the rest of his package, but he managed to get around it well.

Atleast two match of the year candidates too, pity about the botched finish against Kenta though, I just wish people would stop saying he'll end up like Benoit or Dynamite just because of his similar look and in ring style

Hopefully not. From what I know of him I doubt it severely, for a start hes straight edge from what I've heard.

Looking forward to seeing his match on the DGUSA PPV.

Hes also had several unreal tag matches in ROH as American Wolves.

And Danielson's farewell match against him is supposed to be an out of this world 40 minute classic.

He won't be far off wrestler of the year thats for sure.

His match against Shingo was unreal and agreed the American Wolves are a great team,Must try to see his match against Danielson I'm sure it will be unreal, there's alot to be said for Indy wrestling and being a fan of most promotions you take what you want from each and therefore you don't end up too frustrated with one particular product

Some very, very strange choices being made above.

The Rock is the greatest of all time, but of the current crop I'd pick CM Punk.

Ah you never know. Couda been Steven Richards. I've been missing here for a while, so for all you know I coulda just not been able to pull myself away from Stevie Richards matches on youtube.

    ... They are addictive.

No one has picked Angle, Benoit or Eddie so far as their favourite (Angle got a quick "runner up" mention, and Benoit for other reasons). Finding that a bit odd. They're usually among the first mentioned aren't they? No mention of Flair either?

What did you guys do with the real boards.ie?

I'm half expecting someone to pick Tank Abbott soon...

Aye, we've had Hassan, Miz, Rhodes, and Sandman, but little in the way of Angle, Flair, Hogan, or Stone Cold.

Im beginning to worry about the folk round here.:p
