Barack Obama Debate

Last Wednesday Robert Fisk has made a number of points regarding Barack Obama and his time in power. It was mostly criticism towards the foreign policy of the Obama administration, one year after being elected to power. As this is a very interesting topic and I'm sure some people would love to oppose the points that Robert Fisk made, the IRSoc is holding a debate this Tuesday about Barack Obama. The title of the debate is 'Obama, the black Bush?'. Come over to Electrical Engineering Building L1 at 6.15 this Tuesday if you want to contribute, learn or simply listen to various points about Barack Obama or if you simply love debating and want to practice.

Sorry to interject, but if you love and want to practice debating, the best forum to do so is Philosoph/LawSoc speaker development on Tuesdays, possibly a level up from IRsoc!

i haven't been to philosoph/lawsoc speaker development yet, i'm planning to go there, but I can honestly say IRSoc has helped me enough in debating already and i've only gone to 7 of their weekly meetings. It's great because it's a floor debate, the points flow from person to the other, someone else brings up interesting facts that get you to think and its very much orientated the way that anyone can argue with anyone. this is unlike the philosoph/lawsoc routine at the house meetings where an ordinary memeber has 3 minutes to make all the points. however as i said i don't know about the speaker development.
