Can some-one shed some light on a query i have. I wish to be unregistered so put thread here mods - move if necessary. thanks

Lived / travelled outside of ireland close to 2 years.
Had a job to come back too, when i got back a couple of weeks ago; unfortunately i ended up in an accident so i was unable to do this job, & will be unemployed once i am ok again, in 6-8 weeks.
Have spoken to welfare office & they want to see all my bank account details. I have a number of accounts (opened by godparents & my parents over d years etc)which currently in total gove me the sum of maybe 1,600 euro or there about .
I invested soem money before i left (3,000 euro which is worth about 7-800 euro now if i cash it, as it was a high risk investment i think) - if i submit this information i will almost definitely not get assistance & as it is i have many bills to pay .
So should i not submit this as part of my bank details?? I fell so guilty & cannot sleep because of this.

You will more than likely get benefit anyway if you show it.. You have no income and that's whats important and 8000euro isn't a massive amount.

I wouldn't show it though, the means test is very straight forward.. Don't lose sleep over it either!

You must show all your investments and savings. Not doing so is fraud, Ads by Google.

You are allowed to have up to 20 000 euro before they start counting it as means, so you're ok.
