A few places to have a look:

    - Pro Musica on Oliver Plunkett St (do yahama stuff)
    - Crowleys on McCurtain St
    - Russels on parnel place opposite the bus station has re-opened as an acoustic guitar shop.
These would your best bet, try and shop around a bit to find the guitar that suits you best.

There's a small shop a few doors down MacCurtain street from Crowley's towards the train station selling mainly acoustics and some mandolins/banjos etc. I can't remember what it's called off the top of my head but it's worth a look. I think opus II on Oliver Plunkett street are also doing a small selection of acoustic guitars, they may be only classical though?

I would most certainly go to Crowleys on MacCurtain St. I know the guys in there and they are a-1. Noel the guitar specialist is an amazing player and will point you in the right direction. Also the aftersale service is great. Oh ya and they sold Rory gallagher his first guitar so that cant be bad......hope this helps and good luck with your playing :D
