    Hi guys
I am the process of my first install. Can anyone tell me or give me a diagram of the wiring for internal siren and external siren together. Also I got magnet contacts that are pre wired with 4 wires black red blue yellow. When I connect these to a zone i still get open faults. What order should these be installed? Is there meant to be resistors on this contact. Maybe distance between contacts is the problem, or arrow direction (only thought of these possible resolutions now).
    Thanks

    Hi wackojacko,

The internal siren is wired in with the strobe on the outside bell in the HKC panel.
The contacts are red and black for alarm and blue and yellow for tamper. You dont need the resistor unless you change the zone hardware to end of line. The arrow should face up on the sensor, about 10mm is the max distance to be putting the magnet away from the sensor..

    Any problems, let me know..

wired up both sirens today and they worked. is there any way the internal can be wired in on its own? also how do i disconnect ext siren from system without it going off. even in eng mode it seems to go off when i take the cover off? still no luck with contact. its not a reed it has no arrow and i taped magnets together an wired straight to zone?
    thanks again

The internal siren can be wired in beside the panel off a length of cable..
The reason the external bell goes off is because it has a tamper switch on it. If you dont connect the back up battery lead in the external bell and dont connect it in the panel it wont sound.

The sensors with no reed are wired :

    1 spare
    2 alarm
    3 tamper
    4 tamper
    5 alarm
    6 spare

If the sensor is on its own zone you would have :

    2 red
    3 yellow
    4 blue
    5 black

If the sensor is looped to another window you would have :

    1 two black
    2 red
    3 yellow
    4 yellow
    5 red
    6 two blue

This is if your using red and black for alarm and yellow and blue for tamper.

Hope this helps, any problems let me know

Can you post a picture of the contacts your using ?
If you have a multimeter you could test them with the meter on continuity. Remove the magnet and the two that bell are tamper leaving the other two as alarm. Different contacts might have different colours for alarm and tamper..

Some contacts use red/yellow for alarm and black/blue for tamper but as mentioned it's best to check with a meter.
As fas as the internal siren goes you can program one of the other outputs on the panel and use it instead

i think it was called max hunter. il check again when i get the chance. ya ye were right black/blue for tamper. getting ok ok when i do the walk test. however when i open door no alarm. it is set as entry exit in zone settings

Are you getting the 30sec entry exit delay when you set the alarm ?

i actually have one of the doors working. same wiring for both. any chance its a faulty contact.

Could be but you would need to test it with a meter to make sure.

Another thing you could do if you dont have a meter is wire it directly into the panel and test it that way..

will try that. i also have to wire up a roller door in warehouse. there is an existing box wired into a steel plate on the ground. how do these work. ihave wired into box and i am getting ok ok but when i open the door, no change, still ok ok. there is 7 screws and 2 resistors in old box that was cut. blue/black in together at top red/yellow in together at bottom.

These are heavy duty contacts. They work on the same principle as the contacts on your doors only they are made with metal to protect the reed switch from being broken if something heavy goes over it. The magnet part should be attached to the roller door. you will have to do the same with this to find out what colours are used for alarm and tamper. Take the resistors out if you are not changing the zone hardware for resistors on that zone and wire it in the same as a contact in the alarm panel..

right so i have 4white wires coming from plate on the ground( just have to mess around with these to get right combo. thay come into white box with resistors . do i take it this box is acting just as a junction box for joining wires and that there should be some sort of magnet attached to door which is seperate again.

    Yes that's right.

This is correct, the box is a junction box to join the two cables together also there should be a magnet on the door witch is used to close the reed in the contact. You should take the heavy duty contact off the ground and test it on the panel to find the alarm and tamper loop if you dont have a meter.

wired contact at system still doesnt work must be faulty. i have a new contact with reed now with 6 screws spring and arrow. how should i wire this. thanks

ok i have the pattern sorted at system any way

Thats good, you should wire it the same as a contact on a window..

    guess what
more problems. external bell tamper fault. lid firmly shut. in panel
i have it wired fromtop right down yellow black red blue whitegreen. ihave internal bell working fine with no tamper faults. should there be a resistor in panel end as well

The external bell tamper only needs one resistor which should be located in the outside bell. You have used yellow and black for this. Is should be wired as follows : yellow TO PANEL black SAB HOLD

Hope you get what i mean.. Make sure you wrap the yellow cable around the resistor leg.

got it going anyway. not sure if fault was because hadnt yellow wire wrapped around resistor or what. defaulted system a few times eventually tamper fault dissappeared. got roller door working as well using the meter to test the four white wires. happy to know how to do this for the future.

    thanks for help

    Hi there,

Could you please answer the following for me?

Does it make a difference if you set eol zones to non eol instead of using the resistors and setting the zone to eol.

    Thanks in advance

No, it wont affect there operation. Once you have them wired properly you can do this..
