The deposit is non refundable. Have you told them if you dont cut the price you will have to take the business elsewhere? I have hear of some venues being stiff on price. Are you including a choice in the meal, if so knock it out, maybe knock off one course, I went to a 3 course wedding which was fine and the couple paid less tha 50 per head.

Could you even go two course? Starter and main and then use your cake as dessert.

You could get cupcakes* as your cake and use them as dessert??

I thnk you should try negotiate with them. What date is your wedding? How likely is will they get someone else at €100 per head? At least they are guaranteed €70 per head if they stick with you.

Btw, don't tell them your budget initially when negotiating. See how low you can get them to go - aim for €50 ;)

    * If you do go the cupcakes as dessert check out Lydia B Cupcakes. When you are ordering 150 or so they work out at about €1 each. This is the cheapest I have found. And they are incredibily tasty! email: lydiabcupcakes@gmail.com or do a search for them on facebook (search: Lydia B Cupcakes) for loads of photos. PM me if you want a contact ph no for them.

    The deposit is non refundable.

If you didn't sign anything maybe they cannot enforce that the deposit is non refundable?
