There is a forum on the interweb called "Elitist Jerks" about the popular computer game "World of Warcraft"

You don't need to know anything about World of Warcraft however to get a laugh out of their extraordinary moderation policy. Elitist by name and elitist by nature. You can get banned for poor grammar, banned for asking a stupid question, banned for asking a question someone else has already asked and so on.

Have a browse over their "Banhammer" section for a good laugh: http://elitistjerks.com/f34/

    Samples:
This Gentleman called Reveta got a ban for "Lack of Reading Comprehension".

Here is a gentlemen who gets pulled up for failing to use capital letters:
    http://elitistjerks.com/f34/t80290-infraction_reveta_lack_reading_comprehension/

Asking an apparently simple question gets ElasarX a ban with the explanation: "Holy Hell you are Dumb"

and Poor Padraig gets done for for signing his posts "Pad"

All bannable under the same rule "failing to read the charter". We have it here, too.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

Elitistjerks is my favourite site for theorycrafting.

I am very happy that the mods are heavyhanded, otherwise you'd be scrolling through ten noob posts for one sensible post.

I don't play WoW myself but I have noticed that the site seems extremely popular in spite of, perhaps because of, the extreme moderation policy.

I'm surprised that this post has lasted so long without someone quoting it and signing off their post...
Could it be??? Has boards finally started to lose its predictability???

Pfft. If they were that bothered about grammar then this Mod should be banned.

    Wow, he's a bit of a net-nazi alright.
Still, he's probably portly, wears dungarees and doesn't wash as often as everyone else would like.

Drives me inexplicably mental when I see people sign every post with their name.

Can you blame them? It's probably the only bit of authority they have in their lives...after a lifetime of being picked on in an otherwise non-existant social life.

I almost thought about buying another timecard. Youve totally put me off the idea now, just hearing all that acronymical bs.

    Pfft!!!

    That don't impress me much.

Show me a naked mod from that site in front of the spire, and all for charity too.

And the best is yet to come, from Boards.ie and the doc.

If 6th and Bonkey had to work with those rules, conspiracy theorys would be a pretty quiet forum. :D

    Pffft, don't even try it.

The first stage in tackling your lameness is to admit you have a problem.

    Dude, not cool.
That's like mailing smack to a recovering addict.
She needs to cut out the Cher, and Shania Twain, and aim to begin using Metallica, although she may need to use some kind of pseudo-lame music to get her there - B*witched is good.

Thats fine the last CDs I put into my car stereo were Incubus, Foo, and Linking ****ing Park.

    She'll be ok.
