The ball of my left foot is really sore, which makes me think it must be the clutch, its really heavy to change gear.

I think I need to get something done with it.

Is a heavy clutch a bad clutch? Will the new one be the same?

Personally speaking i think a heay clutch isnt really a good thing.
Might worth getting it checked out. Changing gears should be easy
enough, might need new release bearing. Is there much mileage on the car,
was it always so heavy or has it got worse, any noises too?

I've always noticed the clutch in Audi's are much heavier than most.

    what car is it?

I've seen some jeeps with really heavy clutches, though that was just the model :D

Rover 75/MG ZT diesels are renowned for being heavy. After driving one for a month, a "normal" clutch feels like a toy now.

A mechanic jumped in the car and said it was a normal clutch and go to the doc about my foot.

There 125K on the clock and was always the same, she operates fine its just so heavy to change gear.

A friend said it was heavy.

Ive a bad left ankle and its gettign sore on the ball of my foot as well so its looking like an automatic or triptronic for me. Wasnt planning on changing car, she is a beauty :-(

    What engine is it???

1.9TDI would be a heavier clutch alright. Are the revs shooting up at all when you put the foot down??

Whilst you have now received opinions, at least give people time to wake up on a Saturday morning before getting impatient!
