got valuev at 11/8 on thursday, will be impressed if haye can knock him out like he's bragging about, but would enjoy him getting his jaw shut alot more :pac:

The way the market is going, Haye is steadily becoming a backable price.......

I really feel I am missing something about this fight. Surely 11/8 for Valuev is a huge price? If he was 8/11 I would probably have backed him but kind of thinking it is too good to be true. All the stats point to win for the big guy so why is Haye fav? This guy looks like he wrestler bears for sparring practice.

I think it is based on when could only beat 46 year old Holyfield on points, and by that reckoning a fit, young, smart and fast puncher like Haye could take him out. Although Haye is not bullet-proof himself, sure i think his last fight he won by ko despite a nasty cut to his left eye.

For me Valuev has shortened too much to be a back but Haye is not yet a backable price, so its a nothing bet for me at this stage.

Ah, I didn't know that, thanks. Makes a bit more sense now. Having a non gambling weekend so didn't look too much into this fight bar the one loss in fifty stat versus one heavyweight fight and the obvious size difference

I dont know if any of you watched Valuev fight before but I think haye can easily beat him, but thats down to haye. Valuev is seriously slow and if haye makes him chase for 5 rounds and then gets stuck in, Haye will smash him. The winning and losing rests on whether Haye play the tactics right. He shouldn't go to early.

Valuev is not a good fighter

the bigger they are the harder they fall...but i still would not fancy being in a ring with that monster of a man

There's no "Valuev" for money in that fight !

Can't understand how Haye is fav for this one.

I think Haye's lack of stamina is a huge issue in this fight. If Haye can't get it done in the first 4 rounds then I think the beast win. The problem for Haye is nobody has ever put the big man down. He has a head made of granite.

Far too many question marks against Haye. It's only his third fight at Heavyweight. He's also fighting in Valuev's back yard and he's pissed off the locals with his pre fight jabber.

I can see Valuev keeping Haye at distance using his very handy jab and Haye will exhaust himself.

    Did anyone watch the fight?

I can only guess that Haye stuck to his task, made Valuev chase him and knicked it on points.

    Pretty much that, yeah.
Haye had Valuev on dream street in the last round, didn't even connect properly. If there is a rematch I could see Haye knocking him out, or being knocked out himself for being to eager to trade blows. I'd highly doubt there will be a rematch though, unfortunately.

I'd say fortunately, meself. Terrible fight to watch. Haye did what he had to do though, and never looked in any danger really.

I watched the Valuev -v- Chagaev match and it was clear the bookmakers had it spot on with Haye.
    Haye-

    "Bring on the Klitchkos!"

    That'll be worth a watch

Watched this fight (well not really a fight) last night and it was a complete bore. Haye running away from Valuev every round and throwing 2 or 3 punches a round. Haye had him in trouble in the 12th alright but that was it. Valuev was his usual slow self throwing about 7 or 8 jabs a round but at least he was coming forward with Haye running away.

For me Valuev deserved to win the fight. The Sky commentators and the bookies who had Valuev @ 4-11 going into Round 7 thought the same. Really it shows how bad the Heavyweight Division is though - I cant remember the last time there was a decent fight in this division probably Holyfield v Bowe yongs ago. Heavyweight boxing is utter drivel.

What annoys me is the confidence of Haye has rocketed to new levels.

    Unbelievably cocky!

I must have watched about 10 minutes of this on the net before I got completely bored. In that time Haye only threw about 2 punches. If the rest of the fight was like that it was woeful. I don't either of them landed a punch while i was watching. Snore fest.
