Discarding old paint pots

Does anyone know where I can discard old paint pots (dregs of dried up paint, i.e. not cleaned out)? I'm reading on the internet that household hazardous waste collections will take them, but these happen twice a year, if that! Some say drive them to the local landfill site, anyone know where this is in Glasnevin, I only have 2 pots?

You could try the recycling centre near the estuary in Swords.
