MW 2 : Likelihood of pirate servers?

Was just thinking, since this game has been rendered useless by its creators, what are the chances that some saintly folks out there will create their own dedicated servers?

In theory this is quite possible, seeing as the players themselves are all capable of being hosts, a single "zombie" could be set up to host the game, possibly as a specced player. Administration could be worked out too I'm sure, it is pretty difficult to lock down this kind of stuff 100%.

Disclaimer: Whilst I am not advocating the piracy of IW's software, I would however welcome such a development.

Yeah you can bet on that 100%. Its crazy how they overlooked the fact that the games that suffer the least piracy are the ones with good multiplayer. So what will happen is everyone will download a modified version of MW2 and play on pirate servers, probably a mashup of MW1 multiplayer code and MW2 engine.

I have COD4 on the pc and i have never touched the single player mode, i only bought it for the multiplayer, but since MW2 seems to have stepped back 10 years in time in terms of pc gaming, i will not be purchasing it.
