The Simpsons turning into Futurama?

I just watched an episode of The Simpsons from Season 20 (Gone Maggie Gone) last night, and it was the first time I sat down and watched a full episode from a recent series in a long time. But one of the things I noticed was the humor was very similar to Futurama. I cant think of any examples off the top of my head, but it was one of the first things I noticed. Has anyone else thought the same. It's not a bad thing (lets face it, Simpsons in recent years has been bad) but I thought it was good that the writers are trying something new to get the Simpsons to be even slightly humorous. Plus, the animation looked amazing, which is something that Futurama had over The Simpsons (as well as being much funnier).

Nah, the story lines from futurama are far too smart for the simpsons. If they weren't animated I wouldn't even compare them.

I agree, Futurama is a cut above the simpsons, especially season 20 and so far in season 21. The animation has improved greatly, but the quality has gone th opposite.

I love futurama but the movies didn't live up to my expectations. Still enjoyed them but I think it worked best as a single episode.
