Have no idea where to post this so though this might be a goer...

I will be posting products internationally and was looking at an post delivery costs/times...what I don't get is the "Standard Post" costs €3 to US and takes 5/7 business days, while registered costs over €7 and takes 7/9 business days...am I reading that wrong? Cheaper to send mail that takes less tiem to arrive? Surely its the other way around...

registered post means that you have some record of it (and I'm guessing insurance) if the item gets lost

With an post, if you have an item/package/letter insured, it is only insured once it is in Ireland.

Once it leaves the country, insurance is NULL and Void!!

Standard Mail is a joke. Once the item leaves Ireland it is the responsibility of the destination country to make sure the item arrives. If posting to the UK, I wouldnt hold my breath!!!!

Registered Mail, at least you have a record of it. The location of the item has to be logged entering/exiting towns/cities/countries, which might explain why it takes a little longer.

    Hope this helps.
