Expensive cars and their lack of carkits

I drive a lot(excess 50000 business miles per year) and this never ceases to amaze me.

I've have come across umpteen Range Rovers, S type Mercedes, Big Jags, Q7s etc, and more often than not their drivers are on the phone, not using a carkit.

I don't get it. You spend a serious amount of money on your vehicle and yet you can't splash out on a car kit; or even a bluetooth head piece??

A wealthy friend of mine drives a Navara, it has a built in kit, but it's ****e. This guy is a millionaire; does he go have a car kit fitted as the Nissan one is ****??? No, it's far better fun to drive precariously instead.

It's not like these people can't afford to have one fitted; I just can't understand why they don't bother. I saw 4 offenders alone this morning, 2 range rovers, 1 E type merc and an Audi A5.

    Ridiculous.

As far as I'm concerned, the Bluetooth system in the Nissan's is actually quite good. alot better than an aftermarket Parrot or Nokia kit IMO.

I dont understand why Bluetooth hasnt been made a standard feature on a lot of cars. All the Nissan's now have it, as does a new order Focus (I think). Why doesnt a €100,000 Range Rover have it?

Not sure what replies you expect? I'd suggest lobbying your local TD to make bluetooth compulsory on all new cars if you feel so strongly about it.

It's standard in the 09 Discovery and range rovers now I think but was an extra previously!!

I'm not expecting anything; I'm merely commenting that it's a ridiculous scenario!!

Smart thinking....right; because TDs are smart:confused:

    That's exactly why we're borrowing €500 million a week:rolleyes:

And for the record my local TDs are morons. I wouldn't waste finger power on the gobshytes.

500 million a week!? jesus we'd owe the whole world all there money back in no time, last I read it was 4 million a week.

Theres a simple reason for it, its an option in expensive cars because there aimed at people with loads of money, yet people with loads of money either think or actually can get away with breaking the law by being on the phone will driving*

    *actually thats just my opinion

so you're going with the 'invincible' theory?? That's actually very plausible.

On the €500 million thing; this link indicates what it was back in July, but I think it has jumped since then, or so I heard some analyst say on the radio yday

Not exactly an "Invincible" theory, more like people who has loads of money feel like they can buy there way out of hassle anyway or that because they have loads of money hassle doesn't bother them.

Like sure whats a small fine and a few penalty points to someone that can throw €100k at buying a new car every year and run it without worry
