UPC throttling in the Limerick area?

    Hey there,
This morning between 1am and 7am every UPC customer was without broadband due to "essential maintenance". I've just noticed since my line has come back that all downloads are really really slow. Pages load at the same speed, just if I download anything - even downloading from my own server in the states it's about 1/5th of the speed it used to be. I'm on the 20 meg line and I'm downloading at 66K.

Is anyone else experiencing the same thing?

Speedtest.net reports my line as 2.35MB/sec down and 0.70 MB/sec up with a ping of 44ms.

I'm in the Limerick area and have no problems.
Was downloading at more than 2mb per second this morning.
    Can you narrow this down?
    Are you using a router?
What levels is your modem recieving?

    Forget speedtest.net.

    Run the test on speedtest.magnet.ie

I learned a long time ago to never trust Speedtest.net in Limerick.

And make sure that you reboot your modem and are running the test on a direct cabled connection.

Seems to have sorted itself out now - Cheers!
