His web page while informative is diabolical, all over the place. It does a disservice to quality material.

And say what? "Oh, hi, Hal, I like your marathon info, but can I have root access to your server so I can spruce it up a bit?"

No-one would respond to that kind of thing, they'd presume you were a scammer.

Yes, the manner in which he displays all of those free training programs, from 5k to ultra distance, multimarathon programs, recovery programs, weights and stretching advice, seasonal training and general new runner encouragement is just appalling.

I think we should avoid his site in protest, and make up our own distance running training plans. That'll learn him. :)

Totally agree with you, some people are never happy. I use hh advanced 2 in the main and its brilliant.

His webpage design is certainly a bit out of date now and could do with a tidy up.

Another one that annoys me is the McMillian calculator page which has an audio ad for some dvd I thijnk embedded in the page, and if I've forgotten that I have the sound turned up gives me a bit of a surprise each time.

    What's the alternative? P&D? Daniels?

Pfitzinger's site is rubbish, Douglas has a nice looking blog with links to his articles and books but he does openly accept: "I’ve never run a good marathon, owing to too much vertical motion in my stride, a ridiculously high sweat rate and general wimpiness." (He's in good company, although this particular wimp doesn't have the 1:08 Half or the bestselling books on marathoning to qualify such a comment)

The content filter on my work internet tells me Daniels' site is banned with "Block reason: Forbidden Category "Alcohol/Tobacco".

On this comparison, HH has a great website, but I think he gives away too much content for me to want to buy his book. After looking around the site again, I'm actually tempted to get a copy of "Run Dogs Run" for the coffee table.

(I think I should have left this be a joke thread and really shouldn't make the very poor taste joke that that's what you get when you let your daughter-in-law be your webmaster)

Jeese guys, give the guy a break

I'm a bit bemused by the lay-out on the website
HH introduced a Novice 3 program which was in the whats new section
that was about 6 months ago but where is the program now?

Just havin' a laugh. It's Friday after all. No offence meant. :)
Sure, the website could do with a spruce-up, but Hal's no spring chicken any more, and the most important thing on his site, is the numbers.

When someone displays quality material in a bad way it takes away from it, you might think if he doesn't take the presentation seriously then he doesn't take the material seriously....it's a simple point but its true.

If you have doubts, then don't use his free training programs and find something else.
As Ben Dunne is fond of saying 'If you don't like the service, then don't use it'.
