    Hi all,
my class is graduating at the end of november and we want to maybe hire out a venue (or a section in a club)

Now the problem is; how do we go about organising somewhere and how do we collect money?like, do we charge as people enter? Also, is it mandatory to serve food? All we really want is to have everyone in the same place for a bit of a shindig:D

    Any ideas?

Where about are you located? Cornering off a corner of a local bar or club is usually a good option, or even a bar before the night of clubbing begins. Most places wont charge for finger food if there's a crowd over over say 40 or 50, although this can vary from place to place.
Probably your best option because it doesn't involve money being exchanged.

If however the place requires a nominal fee for platters etc, id say you should ask your class to pitch in a fiver or tenner each before the event. Make sure you get prices before you come up with a fee for your classmates. And DO NOT pay for it yourself in advance because more often than not there are always some classmates who never pay up and you end up forking over the extra amount.

As for renting a marque or something, same thing applies, find out how much in advance and then put your prices to your mates... Only thing with this is, finding a venue, renting a DJ, organising drinks, etc.... Will work out much dearer that the first plan
