Anyone know what the dealio is? I bought a Macbook last week off adverts and am having hassle with getting in touch with seller this morning and it's pretty urgent.

I need to install a programe but it's prompting me to enter password to do so....

Is there a way around this??

You'll have to reset the password I'm afraid, did you get the install disc when you bought the laptop?

    NUTZZ is right.
If you have the install disk then go to the link below.

    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1274

Scroll down to the bottom of the page for how to reset the admin password.

If you have a second computer could boot laptop in firewire disk mode and install that way

If not need to restart using a leopard or snow leopard install disk and change password as lads have said

As a matter of course I'd do a reinstall on a machine that'd been used before.

What operating system is on it? I'd buy Snow Leopard, it's probably only €29, and do a clean install.
