How do people feel about the chances of getting their exams after reading this? The wait is a killer no?

I feel a bit better after reading this, sat Auditing which was tough but fair in my opinion. Also sat Financial Reporting so I can at least take some comfort in the fact a lot of people seem to feel the same as I do.

A CAP 2 student told me that their lecturer told them there will be a new examiner after the repeat paper contained a ridiculous amount of consolidation.

That's the kind of rumour I would believe. At least as long as the Examiners/Institute realise the FR exam wasn't that balanced. It's funny because no matter how much exam preparation you do, the exam papers for some subjects are like no other question you've seen before.

Everyone I know says FR was the tough one, so I hope the Exam moderators are more lenient and pass people who made a decent effort at the exam. People used to fear SFMA before, but now I think FR is the toughest paper. You have zero time to look at your notes too. It's hard to know what a 50% pass looks like too. Like the model solutions are around 25 typed pages long! Like, it's just not realistic.

I also spoke to somebody who marks ACCA papers and she told me that when it comes to marking a paper that has had a lot of negative feedback, once the student hasn't made a fundamental error and presents their answers clearly they will put them over the line if at all possible. That's the approach I took for these as I knew time would be a major issue. It's just so touch and go and yes the wait is torture!

Thanks for putting this up. Good to see I wasn't the only one. Thought Audit was tough and long but fair, and SFMA, was just typical SFMA, vague. The Institute made a mess of this year IMO, says it all when you spend months more studying your ass off to get the resit and actually come out feeling like you've done worse than the original. Soul destroying. Feels like the goalposts keep moving.
