    Hi,
I am working two days a week and im doing a Plc course but I have hardly any money coming in only what im getting from my two days its not enough to get me through christmas, im wondering can i sign on the dole or will they know in the social welfare place that I am doing a course? Id rather not have to meet the Social welfare man! Can anyone give me advice before i go in to him and probably end up coming out one leg longer than the other! Im in Mayo!

If your doing a PLC course & working you are not available to work so you wont be entitled to Jobseekers allowence.

I suggest you go into the social welfare office or ring citizen advice and see if you are entitled to anything, but i would not suggest lying to them about doing your PLC course as that is fraud.

unfortuntely OP sometimes people arent entitled to anything. This didnt matter 4 or 5 years ago when times were good but now with more and more people on benefits everyone seems to think they are entitled to something.

I do think it's pretty lame though that you cant get your grant money, cos you dropped outta 1st year and didnt recieve any grant money while you were there. One you didnt get anything, you'd think that they would give it to you this time?!
