is that one of the music ones? have no interest in that tbh, just for phone calls and I'm happy out.

Parrot +1, 3100 should do the trick, but check the Nokia support forums, the Nokia 5800 bluetooth for example is very unreliable, Nokia cradle would be a better option there.

Aye, that it is. Comes with a remote that you can move to suit yourself though. Can be wheel mounted or dash/centre console mounted. Makes it easier to use imo

Not to hijack your thread but what is cheapest one that links into your radio? Ya know like turns the radio off automatically and stuff? Do you have to get them professionally installed?

thats what I'm after one professional installed and with the mute feature on it

What do you drive? I bought a Parrot CK3000 EVO for €70 off Ebay and fitted it myself. Very, very simple, you just need to be handy with a screw driver and able to read basic wiring diagrams.

AFAIK all of the proper car kits mute the radio in most vehicles as they piggyback on the same system used by the radio.

With the exception of the Volvo S40, which has a differently wired system.

+1 on the Parrot kits; excellent!

That's cool. On my friends Focus it comes up on his radio LCD "PHONE" when he answers. Is that feature the radio input or the handsfree kit itself? Would it be on any radio?

The LCD display is a feature of the radio, but even if the radio doesn't display 'Phone' it will still mute the radio......if you understand what I'm trying to say. Well handy actually, I drove an S40 for a bit and missed lots of calls as the phone was on silent and the radio didn't cut out.

Yes but I'm guessing the car kit has an output and the radio has an input for this. Just wondering would it work like that with ALL car radios that have lcd display or is this model specific. As in, the Focus radio has an input specially for a car kit.

A really good kit that will work with both phones, showing info on a removeable colour screen would be the CK-600.It will also mute the radio and run the sound through the cars sound system.

I used phonesonline.ie. Installation is an extra €95 at your home/work. I got the Parrot MK9100 (with USB and ipod connections) - the MKi6100 is only €10 cheaper but does have a similar remote control which I have just within arms reach and the display unit in line of sight so I can still see the road.

    Parrot 3100

It's the most reliable and most compatible in my experience.

That's the older model to the one I had so I'm not sure.

I don't think it makes much difference tho; you wire the carkit as normal, it's just that the radio doesn't cut out like it would in most other cars, so you have to turn in down; no biggy tho.

And that not might be the casein your model s40 as I said:)

madame razz some s40 have amped stereo's therefore require additional wiring to run to the amp in the boot. But there are some basic model stereo than can be muted easily enough depending on how competent your installer is

I have the Parrot Ck3100 installed on a 03 S40. It's absolutely brilliant and i use it every single day. Links to my E71 and Blackberry effortlessly (although only one at a time of course).

As long as you don't have an amp on your Volvo radio unit then you need an SOT-73 harness as per here.

It can be purchased here for about £15.

I fitted the unit myself. It took about 1hr including some wasted time figuring it all out.

I decided to feed the lead through the top of the radio as i had it pulled out already and was easiest. Mic lead is fed under the dashboard (beneath the steering wheel) and then fed up the side panel along the windscreen.

Image attached. ... note the heating is turned all the way up! It's bloody cold tonight!!

it would block my heated seats switch, if i had it where you do

Point is, it works (including mute etc.).
The cord is fairly long, you can have it located wherever you want.

I didn't want some "professional" installer drilling holes etc. into my dash to mount, which they normally do, so i located it there.

This way this way it can be removed and replaced without any trace of it being there.

If it was a decent installer they would know the parrot kit doesnt require drilling mind you there are some that will drill

    Hi guys

I got the Nokia Ck 600 a few months ago for my i phone . my partner uses a Nokia N95 and it works great for the usual stuff . I got the kit mostly for music as it works with most phones . The guy who fitted it said they work with everything . At the time I put up a link in bargain alerts as I paid € 200
