    Hi,

LCD display on my Samsung q45 has what looks like a black blob on the left of the screen, permanently. It only appeared the other day but I'm quite sure there is a leak in the screen and the LCD is damaged. Any ideas of any local companies who could fix or replace this for me urgently, I am off travelling in three weeks and really need the laptop!

    Cheers

How can we recommend a local place without knowing where's local to you?

My apologies... I meant Irish... remind me never to write a post while eating breakfast! I have hit on the idea of replacing the screen myself anyway. Thanks.

Cracked the screen in me Acer a few months back, it was only about 3 months old and still under warranty, manufacturer would not give the exact price until it was sent to them from examination, you would have
to pay the courier charge in advance & it would take at least 2 weeks, but the guy on the phone said it was normally in the region of €300, could have bought a new screen in the US delivered to IRL for about € 80 and then would have has to pay someone to fit it,
but got it fixed with the following company for around €200, left it on Friday and it was ready on Monday. Compuworld, 7 Patrick St, Dun Laoghaire
