    hi

my girlfriend has a 02 vw golf. the central locking has stopped working on one of the back doors, but its in the locked position. the door won't open from the inside or outside.

how do you get the door panel off to have a look at the central locking when you can't open the door?

    any ideas?

    thanks
    Paul

If you have the radio code I'd recommend disconnecting the battery for an hour or so and see if this resets the unit in the door.

After that I'm not sure how you'd get the door open. sorry! :p

My last car was a golf, and this happened to me on a few occasions, it was the locking mechanism was never returning to unlocked. A simple fix I used to use was hit the door just directly under the lock with the side of your fist, this will click the mechanism back into action. If this is the problem it should do the trick.

If this doesn't work the wire could of fallen out (This also happened to me!) I didn't want to go near the door card myself so I left it into the garage for a service and got that fixed too.
