Triathlon events for beginners

    Hey all,

    Just wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction. Just recently completed a sprint triathlon and would love to try a few more next year. Looking around runireland and triathlon ireland there only seems to be events in the west. Does anybody know of any events, charity events that are taking place closer to dublin or leinster. Also do you have to be a member of a triathlon club to enter events?

    Check out the site for the NGB Triathlon Ireland, all legitimate events are listed on their site. At the moment the calendar for 2010 is being compiled and won't be announced for another month or so. There are HUGE numbers of events (legitimate and otherwise) in and around Dublin.
    You do not have to be a member of clubs but its recommended to be a member of Triathlon Ireland as otherwise you ahve to pay a 15 euro one day licence when entering TI sanctioned events.

    Hi welcome to the world of Triathlon,

    There is many triathlon around, on triathlon ireland you will find the ones organsied by the triathlon clubs which would be more competitive in general. On runireland or other website there is about 30 to 50 extra triathlons which are run for charities or as a personal venture. But are also great event to take part.

    The new calendar will get out very soon, and in the next few weeks and a few will be open for entries.
