    Hey,

Always wanted to jailbreak my iPhone 1st gen,but was afraid of something going wrong since it sounded quite difficult.

Now,I've heard about Blackra1n and its looks like i could do it no problem.

But i have a few questions just to make sure : (JB tomorrow hopefully)

    1. Will i still be able to use my original apps + 900 songs on iTunes ?

    2. How do i make sure i keep all my contacts as i really cant loose them,do i just plug in my iPhone into iTunes before doing it to backup ?

    3. If anything does go wrong, such as freezing with the Apple Logo on start up as an example, can i definately restore to 3.1.2 and get all my apps + songs + numbers etc back easily ?

Before i do JB,is there anything i should know or any tips you have for me ? :)

    Thanks alot !

    1. yes. after jailbreaking, just sync your apps and music again.

    2. you can back up your contacts, sms, and settings using itunes. just right click on the iphone on the left side then select back up. after updating, you need to connect your iphone again and just restore from back up.

    3. i dont know the answer to this as it has never happened to me before lol

    3. Follow acidburns answer to No.2 , this will create a backup file with all the things you are concerned with loosing .
If you get stuck on the apple logo or any other crash then plug your phone back into iTunes , hit restore and the same backup file will be used .
