Diginet Thompson modem crapping out

Anyone else had their Thompson modem just stop working at random? It used to be solid as a rock but has needed rebooting on a number of occasions in recent weeks. Today I've had to do it twice. Do these modems get dodgy with age? or is it diginet? Or possibly something else to do with Windows (Vista)?
