good win in the end for Phil. Nice to see ernie challenge though. Poor front nine from Woods.

Delighted that Mickelson won it. Woods demeanor on the course is becoming increasingly dislikeable, in complete contrast to Mickelson. The Chinese crowds seemed to be hugely behind Phil.

Spitting, cursing, swinging clubs violently. All pretty ungentlemanly. Still, He was probably paid $4 Million to turn up so they're hardly going to send him home.:D

Many golfers carry on like that amateurs and pro's......here's a few off the top of my head never mind the low profile guys you don't see on t.v.
sergio spitting, hoffman throws putter in lake, calc. broke many putters as did woody austin, pat perez turns the air blue,I myself have heard darren clarke "f" and blind his caddy and firing clubs at his bag, giving his putter away to a member of the crowd walking off a green, monty's list is endless,& then john daly makes monty look like an alter boy

While its not that appealing to watch when Tiger curses or whatever , it does show a man at his wits end but trying his hardest on every shot, the fact that people say he's on t.v. world no.1 and all that so he shouldn't be carrying on like this,be more of an example doesn't make sense to me,

I suppose the fact he's always close to winning or wins means he's in a pressure situation,he is what he is and these characteristics are part of what makes him great and makes him a winner, it also shows he has some flaws like us all...

Also some people (won't admit it,but) don't like winners and want a stick to poke them with,by that I mean commentators, they are fast to point out any flaws or if he spits or curses,I have have yet to hear one of these mike jockeys have the balls to ask him about it after a round,

I know this is the golf forum but there is a certain soccer match on this afternoon Chelsea v Man Utd. some players here like Rooney,Terry, Vidic and a few more will be fired up and ready to go through a brick wall to win,and are more likely to lose their cool, others like Berbatov or Anelka don't seem to have that passion they play more at an even keel, never likely to get a red card,it happens in all sports,G.A.A,Rugby they all have unsavoury aspects, but it part of the overall picture

I suppose my point is,how boring it would be if we were all the same,I'd rather Tiger(and the soccer players) stay the same than ever change a thing

    note to self......learn to summarise:rolleyes:

Rory Sabbatini had a meltdown on Saturday after losing a ball on 16. He was cursing and made a mess of the tee box before flinging his club at his caddy. He didn't play a provisional ball and ended up making Westwood, Rod Pampling and some other dude in the next group wait for ages on the tee when he went back to play again. There was no apology or anything. Pat Perez lost the plot there also. Shane Lowry had a few choice words....

So basically plenty of the pros are at it. The only difference is that Tiger has a massive gallery with him and has way more crap to deal with and gets caught on camera. The amount of Chinese people talking loudly into phones at the weekend was ridiculous. They have some pretty impressive and noisy cameras also. It was a joke...

Edit: Just found this article which highlights how bad the gallerys were... http://sports.espn.go.com/golf/columns/story?id=4618647
