    Hi All,

I have just been told to take next Wed & Thurs off work so I would like to get in a few rounds of golf somewhere.

I don't mind travelling a couple of hours or paying a few extra euro to play somewhere nice.

Any suggestions would be great, I'm based in Limerick.

    Thanks in advance
    Seorg

The obvious questions are whether you want links or parkland golf and whether you're planning an overnight stay somewhere.

Have you played Adare? Why not take a trip to Killarney and play next year's Irish Open course. What about Dundrum in Tipperary, or Shannon, or Doonbeg.

You have too many choices, Seorg, so help us out and tell us what you like.

    Thanks for the reply Kevin.

I have played Shannon and Adare numerous times so I would like to play somewhere new.

I don't think it will be an overnight stay.

I have actually never played links golf.

What about Charleville Golf Club - only about half an hour from the city. There's an 18 hole and a 9 hole. Lovely course.

Ya, open singles in Lahinch every Thursday.....€60. Super course but a bit pricey given the current hard times. Especially since it was €45 last May and June for the Thursday opens.

By god scorthy never thought you would have suggested Enniscorthy! I know the OP said he didn't mind travelling but a 6 hour round trip..... Seriously and I don’t mean to cause offence but the amount of times you plug your course is a bit much at this stage....

What about Dromoland Castle not far from you and in Kevin's book he rates it highly and throw in a links in Clare the next day
