    Hi all,

Though I have posted here before I'm usually found slouching about and ranting in the cycling forum. I have decided to grab life by the Achilles Tendons and get involved in the more instinctive and primordial sport of running.
I have started my training and am doing pretty well, (pretty well means I did a 10k training run and actually made it back to the house without ringing the local medical service and could walk the next day...) which was nice.

I did a bit of running last year but am upping my game for 2010 so am looking to start running in more events hence the real reason for this post. Would anyone have any info on this race and make any suggestions for events over the next 3/4 months. I'm based in West Cork and hope to do one or two (more?) events a month.

    Thanks in advance:D

I did this run last year. It was very enjoyable, fairly low-key. We had a perfect day. The run is mostly flat except for a biggish hill at 6k.

There are some 5k runs in Killarney over the next few weeks. The
    munsterrunning.blogspot.com website has good info

I did this as well last year, though I really would not call it flat thanks to that hill. But I felt it was very well organised and I enjoyed it a lot.

I won't be able to do it this year because of babysitting duties. Gutted, as it's so close to home that last year's warm-up was to run to the start line straight from our door.
