Insolvency & Registered Domain Names

It is important to remember that insolvent companies and businesses must treat any registered domain names, paid for by the insolvent or liquidated business, as assets of the company, and therefore ensure that liquidators etc be made aware of these.

Any registered domain name that is still in use, together with email accounts, after the demise of a company or business, MUST be cancelled upon the cessation of the business.

Not many people are aware of this, and it is becoming an issue, whereby small enterprises continue to trade after a liquidation, utilising their web address and/or email accounts for marketing and communication purposes.
