It seems that jailbreaking introduced this vulnerability. Wonder if he got many $$$ before they shut him down...

OMG! I'll post here what I posted in Talk202:

This article is full of misleading crap it's unbelievable, it's just sensationalism pure and simple.

1st when you jailbreak your phone it does NOT enable SSH. You can install an SSH app after you jailbreak to explore the iPhones file system via wifi, but you don't have to as there are many that use USB instead (no password or otherwise needed).

2nd if you did install SSH and didn't change the password the only way someone would be able to enter your phone is if they had access to your wifi.

Jailbreaking is not that scary, does not fund terrorist and criminal activities and as much as Apple would like you to believe will not lead to the end of the world.

I'm not saying you are scaremongering, but the article is. SSH only works over wifi not 3G.

Look when you install SSH it warns you to change the password, if you don't...well:rolleyes:

In fairness, SSH even on a PC or Mac is asking for trouble if you're not au-fait with security.

fair enough...didn't realise SSH couldn't be made work over 3G
