From BT to Vodafone - Is there Anyone else I should be checking out?

I was a subscriber to BT's Broadband and Total talk package (unlimited 8Mb broadband + free calls to Ireland and the UK) now Vodafone are taking over and they are offering me essentially the same package for a few bob less. So far so good but I notice the small print says I have an option to get out of my contract for free…

So far so good but I notice the small print says I have an option to get out of my contract for free if I don't want to go to Vodafone.

Are there any other Phone / Broadband packages I should check out before committing to Vodafone. The land line bit is important to us as well as the internet.
