Honeymoon in Italy....HELP!

    Hi all,

We're going on a 7 night cruise for our honeymoon next June, however it doesn't depart until a week after our wedding. Obviously we don't want to go back to work (!) so we were thinking of spending a few days in Italy before the cruise.

We were going to fly to Italy on the Tues and originally stay in Venice (where the cruise departs from) but after researching this have found it to be very expensive, which is to be expected obviously.

Have you any suggestions as to where we could spend a few days before the cruise? We will just want to relax. Not really interested in art or museums etc. Just nice scenery and nice hotel to chill for a few days.

    Thanx.

How about Lake Garda? It's only a couple of hours drive from Venice and the scenery is stunning.

Cinque Terre. Beautiful place. Ok so its a bit of a travel, 4/5 hours by train from Venice, but it depends where you fly in to. Fly into Pisa and go there. Lago di Garda is not bad, and near Venice. You could go down the coast to Ravenna. You could go to Tuscany, San Giminiano or Siena, but again you will have to get a train to Venice. Where are you flying in to?
