If you're looking to get an idea of what you should be paying then this won't help you. Sit down with a Golden Pages and a phone and call every ins co and a good selection of brokers - it's the only way to get the best quote for you.

I will ring around them all but was also wondering what I should be expecting more or less beforehand to know where I'm coming from. Any ideas on fully comp for a 00 renault clio? full clean licence for 2 years.

Take your existing renewal as a starting place , premiums vary enormously between different insurance companies.

The quote is more dependent on the driver than the car.

I got a web quote from nearly every insurance company out there. I nearly went with bestquote but britton insurance gave the lowest price, fully comp and 0 excess.
